How to Purchase Firearms Online

All firearms, custom firearms and ammunition sold by Umbra Arms LLC are done so in accordance with Federal, State, and Local firearm laws where state preemption does not supersede.  The following procedures guide how we at Umbra Arms LLC will handle purchasing and processing orders for firearm and ammunition.  See our NFA page for information about how to purchase NFA items from us.

 

Purchasing Firearms Online:

You must be 18 or older to purchase long guns and 21 or older to purchase hand guns. Check your local & state laws to be sure that you meet your state, county, or city firearm laws.

  1. Once you have completed your firearm purchase online. You will receive an order confirmation e-mail.  If you do not receive an email order status update within two business days after placing your order, please Contact Us.  Please make sure you write your name and order number on any correspondence you send us.
  2. Find a local FFL that will accept the transfer of the firearm for you. This can be your local Gun Shop, Pawn Shop, Gun Range or any other location that holds a current FFL and will help you with your transaction.  You can use the search function below to view the list of FFL holders that are currently on file (this function is neither controlled, nor designed by Umbra Arms LLC.  Use at your own discretion).
    Find an FFLYou may need to contact the FFL you choose to send your firearm to alert them to your need to transfer.  Transfer fees may apply and may vary from one FFL to another.  This transaction is between you and your FFL.  With the exception of returning repaired or customized firearms to the original private owner, under no circumstances will firearms be sent to non-FFL addresses prior to the completion of a Form 4473 and subsequent background checks, where applicable.

  4. Once your FFL holder receives your firearm; you will need to pick it up.***Important: **** Upon arrival at your FFL, inspect your firearm to make certain that everything is acceptable before filling out the necessary paperwork.  Once your firearm is officially transferred to you, any Warranties with Umbra Arms LLC, and/or return policies are in effect.  See Terms and Conditions.

 

Restrictions on transfer and sale of firearms:

California:  Handguns must be on Approved List. No “Assault Weapons” will be transferred.

Connecticut:  No Semi-Auto Rifles Rifles will be transferred.

Maryland: Firearms sales only to Class 01 FFL Dealer. No “Assault Weapons” will be transferred.

Massachusetts:  No Handguns.  No “Assault Weapons” will be transferred.

New Jersey:  Firearms sales only to Class 01 FFL Dealer. No “Assault Weapons” will be transferred.

New York: No Firearms will be transferred.

Washington D.C.: No Firearms will be transferred.

How to Purchase Ammunition Online:

NOTE: Ammunition and Firearms must be purchased separately, in two separate

orders.

Federal law requires that you must be at least 18 years old to purchase shotgun ammunition and 21 years or older to purchase handgun and rifle ammunition.

• Umbra Arms LLC can ship ammunition directly to you.

• No sales outside the U.S

• Ammunition shipped by air requires Hazardous Material (HazMat) classification

and additional fees will apply.

• Ammunition shipments to Alaska and Hawaii must be by air.

• Ammunition and firearms must be purchased separately.

• For safety reasons, we do not accept returns on ammunition.

• Always make sure you use the correct ammunition for your specific firearm.

• Check your local laws for any other regulations before ordering.

• All sales over $100.00 that are being shipped to a residence will require an adult

signature and are not allowed to be left at the door, fees will apply.

 

Restrictions on shipment and sale of ammunition:

Illinois:  We must have a copy of your FOID and State ID on file.

Connecticut: We must have a copy of your AEC or Pistol Permit and State ID on file

Chicago, IL:  No Ammunition without a valid FFL.

Cook County, IL No Ammunition without a valid FFL.

Los Angeles, CA: No Ammunition without a valid FFL.

Massachusetts:  No Ammunition without a valid FFL.

New York City, NY:  No Ammunition will be shipped.

Oakland, CA:  No Ammunition without a valid FFL.

San Francisco, CA:  No Ammunition without a valid FFL.

Sacramento, CA:  No Ammunition without a valid FFL.

Washington D.C.:  No Ammunition will be shipped.

APO & FPO Addresses: No Ammunition will be shipped.

PO. Boxes: No Ammunition will be shipped.

Connecticut: 10 round limit
